THE BULLETIN BOARD is a space for non-profits and photographers to meet — it is effectively the heartbeat of Shoot For Good.
In the bulletin board, you will find a list of local non-profits that recognize the value that compelling photography has in their efforts to communicate to donors and volunteers as a part of the Shoot For Good project. We are relying on non-profit organizations to continue to add their information to our listing, so this listing will be updated continuously. Check back often. As a participant, you can click on the really big link below that says, “GO TO THE BULLETIN BOARD!”, to, well, umm … you guessed it, go to the bulletin board. Also, please use the Non-Profit Bulletin Board Quick Links that are in the right sidebar of this page to sift through the non-profit organizations by indicated criteria.
And, remember, anyone and everyone can participate in Shoot For Good and any good deed can be a subject for your camera. Therefore, if you know of something good happening in your community, then go shoot it! You don’t have to document one of the groups or events listed and you don’t have to ask our permission to document the myriad of daily good deeds that happen in Hampton Roads. Info for local Non-Profits
If you are representing a local non-profit and you want photographers to know about your organization, just scroll down a bit further on this page and you will see our submission form. By filling this out, you will be included in our listing on our bulletin board, therefore letting local photographers know more about your organization. We ask that you please recognize that we want to document authentic events, so please do not take this as an opportunity to stage PR-type photo opportunities. No event is too ordinary — or boring — and nothing speaks louder than the truth.

Rightfully so, some of the non-profit organizations will have restrictions of what can be photographed and when. So please be respectful. Our intent is not to overwhelm the groups, but help them. In turn, you will have an opportunity to do something you enjoy and shoot pictures for all the right reasons. This section is intended to be a resource to learn about local charities doing extraordinary deeds and build a relationship with one of those non-profits. Also, if you know of a group that has yet to sign up, please send them here.
