Saturday afternoon had veteran volunteer, Helen Griggs (84), taking Dolly (87) out for a day getting groceries.

The Senior Services of Southeastern Virgina offers many services, one of which is: Senior Companionship, a stipened-paid program that partners senior volunteers with adults who need companionship and a helping hand. I learned that the grant supporting the program is no longer avaliable. The monthly stipe might not have seemed like much, but to some it’s patrons a loss of $10 can take a toll.
